Horwath HTL Italy Launches 11th Edition of Hotels & Chains Report, Unveiling Resilient Trends and Growth Prospects in Italian Hospitality

In collaboration with Italian Confindustria Alberghi Association and Bocconi University, the report showcases a 2.4% decline in tourist flows amidst domestic challenges, offset by international demand and double-digit hotel performance increase.

Branded supply of hotel chains remains close to 6% but Hotel Management Agreement contracts have grown by more than 14% in the last year despite Lease (38%) and Ownership (33%) remaining the preferred business models.

With promising market indicators and new prestigious brand entries, Italy remains a key player in European hospitality. Future developments spotlight central and emerging regions, emphasizing a shift towards secondary destinations. The report underscores the need for strategic partnerships to bolster Italy’s hotel sector.

Zoran Bacic, Managing Director Horwath HTL, Italy and author of the report said

“Overall the report is a positive signal that indicates the Italian market is approaching international standards and providing fertile ground for new chain operators to enter and penetrate the market.

The report covers all aspects of Italian Hotels, including key findings, new development, year on year growth chain hotels by number and size, chain hotels by scale and brand, pipeline and many more.
